These are taper sawn from blocks of Cedar and have a relatively smooth face and back.  They are reddish - brown, which assumes a silver grey tone after exposure to weather.  Red Cedar is characterised by its extremely fine and even grain which gives exceptional strength in proportion to its weight. 

Western Red Cedar Shingles are No.1 Grade Blue Label Certigrade - the mark of premium grade of shingles.  The blue label grade ensures that the shingles are made from cedar that is;
