How to lay a good base for your greenhouse
How to sort out the ground for your Wooden Greenhouse
All our Greenhouse and Shed & Greenhouse Combi buildings come complete with a timber floor throughout. The example of the floor plan is for a 3m x 1.5m Shed & Greehouse Combi. As you can see the floor is in two sections and is kept off the ground with the floor bearers provided. These give good air circulation under the building and keeps the floor away from any water. For ground preparation we suggest a gravel base. This allows any water that gets under the building to drain away easily. The bearers will then have to be set level on the gravel and damproof set on the underside of each floor bearer. This adds years onto the life of the building. Most of the time spent installing a building is spent on getting the base correct and level. The levelling is a crucial part of installation becasue if the base is out, then the doors and opening windows may not close properly and you may find the roof seem out of level with each other. If this happens, you will have to lift one corner of the building using a bar and pack up the corner that levels the roof out.
